Not Me and A Starbucks Card

Well... it's been awhile since I posted Not Me style...

are you ready for a Not Me post?

I have to start with this weather... we are not having the crazy winter ever!

I am not still praying for a good snow storm. Nope, not this sun-loving mommy. I would not love a cozy, snowed in day at home.

I did not get all excited that it was haircut day for my outdoorsman. I did not tweet out this on Saturday completely sure that his fuzzy face was going to be baby face once again.

I did not get his hair cut only to have him say, "Nope. I like it. Why would I shave it today?"

I did not concede that he does have 2 weeks left of hunting and wintery outdoorsy activities.

Because of my tweet, we both did not get a lot of hair cut type questions at church the next day. Nope, not us!

I did not, in the middle of a 21 day church fast, exclaim to my friend in a parking lot that I was coming back to this same parking lot next week for a Gluten Free Gigi's Cupcake, a hair trim and a Starbucks. Those are not three of my favorite places in one spot.

I did not, immediately after exclaiming such a thing, slip on black ice. I was not seriously close to falling on my backside.

And, in honor of my parking lot moment, I did not decide to giveaway a $10 Starbucks card on my blog this week. Nope, why would we all want to have fun like that?

Oh, you do want to have fun like that?

Just leave a comment to enter!

For some extra shots at the gift card, you can like our facebook page, follow our blog, find me on twitter, tweet or facebook the giveaway or find me on pinterest. Just leave a separate comment for each one that you do!

And, make sure you have a connected email so that I can contact the winner.

I'll draw a winner on Friday!

You know, so we can have some Not Me winter fun!

Not Me! Moments from my Cell Phone

I have missed playing along with Mckmama and her Not Me! Monday posts.

She started them back up and I'm just now getting a chance to join in.

I love pulling pictures from my cell phone because they seem to hide in there for a long time and then when I go to sort through them, I find fun forgotten moments to share!

So, here is a Not Me! Cell Phone Edition.

I did not eat this whole gluten free pizza by myself.

Nor did I go back a second time to finish off ANOTHER whole pizza by. my. self.

I did not show up to church in an almost identical outfit to my good friend Julie. We did not mention it to each other and then just have to snap a picture of our twinness.(linking this picture of two Mommys and their babies with Krystyn @ Really Are You Serious for Mommy and Me Monday!)

I did not take a picture of Abby with my new camera because she looks so tiny holding it up to her eye.

I did not take these pictures that scream "I'm the wife of a hunter/outdoorsman" with my phone. I would never want these gross things to be stored on my SD card.

I do not have a husband who would wear the above while hunting or catch/freeze/pin the below.

I did not put my niece in the back of the truck so the girls could pretend she was riding home with us.

I did not take this picture of the "Welcome to Ohio" sign because you know I never leave the state. ever.

I did not make my girls pose with this sign after getting Abby her pink boots for the wedding. We are surely not country store, pick up truck and boot people.

I did not see this while driving down the road. Remember, I don't ever drive anywhere.

I do not drool over the buttered rolls at Logans. No. Not Me.

I do not positively adore these cute cousins of Jeremy. They are not just the sweetest girls ever. And, we were not on our way out for ice cream after our fun day of renewing our vows.

I did not buy this cute watch at Von Maur for $9!

And I would not have actually worn MY boots while driving the truck.

Nope! Not Me!

Not Me, er... Miscellany Monday!

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

1. This first one has to be said in good, old-fashioned Not Me! Monday style... I did not change my girls after church yesterday afternoon into "comfy clothes" so we could go to a friend's house for the Superbowl. I did not let Annalise to choose a completely mismatching outfit of orange and red. I did not tell my girls that they could sleep in their clothes last night because of the late bedtime. To make matters worse, I would never get up for my chiropractor appointment this morning, forget to pull out new clothes for the girls and then get home an hour later in a rush for piano and allow the girls to leave the house with me in the very same "comfy clothes". Uhm, no. Not around here.

2. Oh, this one has to me Not Me! too. Annalise did NOT yell across the library that she had to go to the bathroom using very plain and truthful words for what she needed to do. No, those moments never happen to me.

3. Whew. I'm sure there are more Not Me's from this week but I'm allowing myself to forget them.

4. I am reaching the final deadline of my internship classes for my credentials. Finishing the last one up this week, then two more classes, a test, and interview and I am done! So thrilled to have this process complete!

5. My gallbladder is acting up. So. Not. Fun. I had pregnancy gallbladder flair ups when I was pregnant 8 years ago with Elayna but I haven't had any trouble with it since then. I have an ultrasound this Thursday which I expect to be normal because I don't think that I have gallstones but rather a very touchy gallbladder that has decided to give me trouble this week.

6. My next post for Seeds of Faith will be going up this Thursday. I am excited about the thought that God has laid on my heart for this post!

What miscellany type things have you been up to lately?

Not Me! Monday - the tip

Mckmama- Not Me Monday

While at Longhorn restaurant yesterday, I did not get the bill, look at the waitress and say this:

"Oh! The bill is $39.99 and our gift card is for $40! That is perfect.... you can keep the change."

She did not look at me and say, "uh... thank you."

I did not realize how that sounded to her after I said it.

I would never actually tell the waitress that her tip was $.01!

I did not feel so bad about it that I left a great tip in cash on the table.

Nope! Not Me!

Not Me! Monday - GIRLS!

Mckmama- Not Me Monday

I did not, just three short weeks into our school year, allow my girls to go on their first break from school to Iowa for a week.

Before taking the girls to meet up with grandparents, we did not make a quick trip to Michigan for my sister's baby shower.

Abby was not thrilled with the idea that there was a real baby kicking inside Aunt Holly's belly.

At Abby and my niece's birthday party, Abby did not say, "Where are the pink flowers and green leaves on my cake?" when she saw this adorable princess cake that my mom got from Costco. Abby is never that ungrateful!

Jeremy did not spend his time fishing and fishing and fishing...

After my sisters post last week, I did not get it in my head that we needed a new Haynes Sisters picture...

Nor did I go even farther and suggest an all girls picture since, well... that is what we have in our family. GIRLS!

And, being a family of girls, MY GIRLS would not be the ones outside running around with frogs.

Being the great mom that I am, I would not ever allow my mother to buy my 4 year old a real phone. Nope, Not Me!

She did not look incredibly cute walking around with this prepaid phone from Walmart with its sparkly pink case on her hip.

My mother would not have said, "There are 9 speed dials on this phone. #1 is voicemail and the other 8 are GRANDMA!"

We have not all had fun calling Abby on her phone and listening to Abby call us. We would never encourage her in this way.

Especially because she is just 4 and she did not have a major potty accident at my mom's house making wet spots all the way from one bathroom to the next because they were both occupied and she couldn't hold it any longer. Kids who have potty accidents are surely NOT old enough for real phones!

And, I am not going to combine two memes and add these cute pictures of me and two of my girls for Mommy and Me Monday with Krystyn @ Really, Are you Serious?

Also, I did not get to meet Melanie from Adorkable Me while at Innkeepers last week. She was not just super sweet nor did I feel like we have met many times before.

So, that is what we have not been up to over the last weekend. What have you NOT been up to?

Not Me! Monday - Birthday Edition

Mckmama- Not Me Monday

I did not take this adorable girl to the eye doctor on Friday.

She has not been having trouble with headaches which resulted in me wanting to have her eyes checked before we start school.

They did not have to dialate her pupils which made her vision blurry and light sensitive for the rest of the day.

I did not give her my big sunglasses to wear when we were outside!

She did not yell, "Mom, take a picture of me in the fish tank!!!" My kids don't yell in the doctor's office!

And, her eyes are not FINE!

Friday afternoon, we did not make our way down to Cincinnati so we could eat at Benihana's. I did not set the GPS while on the phone, not realizing that it was taking us to the downtown location and not the location by the mall. That mistake did not cost us 25 minutes extra in the van.

When arriving at the downtown location, we did not find out that they do not open until dinner.

After finding the right location in the GPS, we did not have to drive another 25 minutes before we could eat our lunch.

I did not have 3 hungry kids and a hungry husband by this time.

Upon arriving at the right Benihana location, Jeremy did not go in and find out that they stopped serving lunch at 2:00pm.

It was not 2:01pm when he asked. And, they did not turn this hungry family away saying we had to wait until 5:00pm.

To pass the time, we did not go to the mall, get Auntie Anne's pretzels to tide us over until dinner and buy more silly bandz for the kids at church.

In the midst of the mall trip, I did not hear from the insurance adjuster about our car. It was not bad news. Really, I did not need that news at all. I was not on the phone for an hour inside the mall talking to our agent, the adjuster, and the claims department only to find out that they made a decision about liability in the accident without ever getting the final report from the city with the traffic light sequence. I was not quite MAD. I did not call the city up myself, find out that the insurance had never even requested the information about the light in question and within 10 minutes get what I needed from the city engineer himself. I did not call up the insurance adjuster again, tell him that within 10 minutes I accomplished what he hadn't been able to do and then plead my case for another half hour only to probably loose it all anyway.

Grrrr....

After a trip to BassPro where my husband did not by another pair of hunting boots, we attempted to go to the restaurant again because it was almost 5:00pm. Try #3.

We did not arrive at the restaurant, wait outside and then read that they don't open at 5:00pm but at 5:30pm.

We did not have some CRAZY hungry girls by this time.

We did not leave the restaurant again and go get gas for the van and shop for silly bandz at hobby lobby.

On try #4, we did not finally make it to a table for our big birthday dinner for Jeremy.

It is not a new tradition because they offer $30 off the birthday person's meal! We did not go last year for his birthday too.

Jeremy did not spend all $30, getting 2 different orders of sushi and a meal. The first sushi was not called "The Las Vegas Roll". We don't eat things they say "Las Vegas".

These pictures were not all taken with my phone. I am better about bringing my camera with me on birthday celebration days than that!

I did not do a little bloggy, happy dance when I saw that my followers hit 200! I am not at all concerned about numbers nor do I care in the least about those kinds of things. Really, not me! (Fun! Thanks to you new readers!!)

We are also not starting school today! Nope, I would not make my girls start this early just so we can be sure to work in some GOOD breaks during the year.

After all that, what have YOU not been doing lately?

More Camping Adventures...

Watch out... this is one long post filled with pictures. I do not want to be blogging about camping FOREVER so I'm fitting many of our adventures into this one post.

We arrived at the park on Tuesday afternoon.

We hit the nature center first. It was free and right by the park office. The nature center had live animals as well as fun exhibits for the girls to read about nature in Ohio.

Then, we put flowers in our hair while Daddy set up the tents.

Jeremy rested in the hammock while I set up the kitchen and the beds

and the girls collected all kinds of bugs

Then, I rested in the hammock while Jeremy chopped wood.

And, because it's Monday and there were definitely some things that I did NOT do while camping...

I did not use this potty in the woods. EVER. I would never be so desperate to use such an outdoorsy thing!

While on our family nature hike, my husband did not actually run back to a tree to find a leaf to prove the guide wrong. The guide said it was a beech tree and Jeremy said it was a young maple tree. The guide was a naturalist so he would never get something wrong and my husband would never argue with a state park guide. Jeremy was not right.

While on our boating trip, we did not get stranded because Abby tied the safety pull string up on the wheel which caused us to not be able to start the boat. We were not clueless as to why the boat wouldn't start. We did not call another boat over, send them for help, sit and wait before realizing that all we had to do was plug the safety string back in so the boat would start.

My fishing husband did not bring 6 fishing poles with him on our trip. One of the poles does not have some special contraption that potentially allows the fisherman to catch 3 fish at one time. We did not go the entire day only having caught (and then loosing) one fish. I did not "catch" that one fish. Nor did he break one of his poles by trying to pull our boat over closer to where it was snagged on something in the water. He is much more an experienced fisherman than that.

Half way into our fishing/boating trip, Jeremy did not realize that we had completely forgotten to put life jackets on the girls. Because, being the safety conscious parents that we are, we would not let the life jackets just sit there on the floor of the boat without thinking to put them on the girls.

And, they did not look adorable watching Daddy fish. Not at all.
