Tonight, we celebrated a little girl's 7th birthday. Jeremy took her mushroom hunting (for morels) while I took Annalise and Abigail to the store for some birthday supplies.
We only have big, invite-some-friends birthday parties on the girls even birthdays. It just keeps the birthday craziness down to a minimum and also gives us a chance to celebrate some of these milestones as a family.
Tomorrow, we are going to the Creation Museum with our homeschool group. I. Can. Not. Wait. So excited... and we will celebrate her birthday more there with a special lunch in Noah's Cafe.
So, today we had her little party.
I went to the dollar store and got blue everything: plates, napkins, table cloth, poster, big blue bow and some balloons. It turned out really cute. Blue is her favorite color.
She had requested brownies for her cake with blueberries on top. Why? I don't know. But, that is what she wanted!
The blueberries made the seven. She loved that. She opened some presents and talked on Oovoo with her aunts and Grandma. She talked to her other Grandma on the phone (Jeremy's mom and she was mushroom hunting while we were talking to her... it's a Goodwin thing!)
After the girls went to bed, I cooked up the morels for Jeremy.
Some spring seasons you get a lot, other springs not so many...
this is a not so many year. He found one yesterday (he brought home a real live, crawling, yucky tick too and it was in the bathroom this morning. Ew! Sounds like a Not Me! But, if you follow me on twitter, you already know about it. Yuck. The price I pay to be married to an outdoorsman.) and one today.
They do not look the least bit appetizing to me but he practically inhaled them. Anyone else look for these little disgusting yummy delicacies?

And, now, to humbly present my feet. Oh, boy... Stacey, what are you thinking asking for a picture of our feet?
She challenged us to a lazy mom job... giving ourselves a pedi.
Well, I was going to go COMPLETELY lazy and visit the beauty school down the road and have THEM paint my toenails for me but... laziness overtook me and I didn't even make it over there.
So... I did it myself. bummer.
How's that? I made the picture as small as blogger allows. Funny, funny, Stacey!
Go check out Lazy Moms for more feet pictures... if you want to.
I'll be back with a Creation Museum adventure tomorrow, or Saturday... or maybe Sunday. This weekend is so busy! Hope you have a GREAT one!
