A Beautiful Recess

We ventured outside this afternoon to experience the beautiful 60 degree February day.

It was amazing... the girls ended up playing outside for quite awhile!

While the girls played, talked, laughed and ran on their scooters, I walked around and admired the coming leaves.

 Each tree budding differently...

The neighbors invited the girls over to their yard and so they raced off for some more spring fun...

Elayna spent some time making bark shapes.

I love their creativity. Hours spent outside making things from little pieces of nature.

We had a beautiful recess outside today... little bits of green popping up everywhere!

In February, no less!

Is spring popping where you are?

Spring Cookies, Worms and New Friends

Earlier this week, we decorated cookies with new friends...

They were very yummy! And they all had fun licking frosting off the IKEA kid knives.

and their fingers...

When Jeremy got home, he showed this cute little guy the worms in our fridge.

He was loving our "pet" worms!

Even after this face, he did end up holding one. So cute.

Dayton is supposed to have a record high tomorrow of 84 degrees! You would never know it today because it is freezing cold outside right now. We'll wait and see what happens!

Come, Spring and Sun, Come!

Feeling Simple

Outside my window... the sun is trying to shine from behind the clouds

I am thinking... that my ears are about to explode. the pressure is driving me crazy and I am praying that the ENT can do something about it today. pray with me?

I am thankful for... beads. they have kept my girls busy making necklaces and bracelets for an hour this morning.

From the learning rooms... we are working on telling time, putting things in alphabetical order and studying water

From the kitchen... not much lately. not feeling well puts a damper on the kitchen creativity.

I am wearing... jeans, a blue shirt, a black sweater and pink slippers

I am creating... a better system for taking care of our budget

I am going... to the doctor today

I am reading... Attitudes 101 by John Maxwell

I am hoping... that they can fix my ears!

I am hearing... Annalise and Abby sing a made up song about how beautiful Jesus is. PRECIOUS

Around the house... dress up clothes, laundry, beads and plastic food. school books, receipts and stuffed animals.

One of my favorite things... the book of Proverbs. oh and... blogging. does that surprise you?

A few plans for the rest of the week: Church, coffee with a friend, Junior Bible Quiz state meet, seeing my mom and dad and hopefully, feeling better!

Here is picture for thought I am sharing...

You can see more from that fun day last summer at the Butterfly House here... Can you see me and Abby in the glasses?

Knuckles

I am still missing some sunshine, although looking at your pictures really helped! It was fun to see some sunshine instead of snow. Feel free to link up a summer picture or one of your old favorite summer posts. Just click here to add your post and help warm us all up.

I went back and was looking at some old pictures of the girls and found these from a parade in May of 2006. Elayna was 3, Annalise was 15 months and Abby was in my belly...

Summer. Sunshine and Pink Sunglasses...

While looking at these pictures, I came across a video of Annalise. Talk about a cutie! Just learning to talk and full of smiles. I love this baby! So, anyway, in the video I ask her to point to her nose... she does it. Then, I ask her to point to her knuckles... she does it! What 16 month old knows where their knuckles are?

My babies all did.

For some reason Daddy thought that was an important thing to teach them. Leave it to him to stray from the normal "where is your eyes, where is your head, where is your ears". My girls all knew their knuckles.

A Glimpse of Summer...

So, blog friends, it is winter. And most of us are surrounded by lots and lots of white fluffy stuff. I am starting to really long for green grass, pretty flowers, flip flops and sand boxes. Are you?

My house is covered with dangerous ice weapons.

The snow is about to bury the swings...

And, Annalise can literally slide down the steps instead of walking down them.

Because it is SOOO wintry outside... I had the thought this morning that it would be fun to have a blog hop for summer! Instead of looking at a bunch of winter pictures, lets warm up our blogs with summer fun.
