Alphabitty Moments - B is for Bike Rides

This Alphabitty Moment is...
B is for Bike Rides!

And, yes, this momma is learning to wear a helmet.

I'm actually wearing Jeremy's here and it is too big. New helmets coming to this family soon... yeah!

Abby is in the picture... can you find her?

Check out our new picture buttons on my right sidebar! There is one for family biking and it is where you will be able to quickly find all of our bike riding posts.

On another note... I'm blogging over at Seeds of Faith today with a post called "No Words". A reminder for us to run to God even if we don't have the words to voice how we feel or what we are going through. So, be sure to visit me over there too!

Now, Jeremy and I are off for a bike ride by ourselves while the girls visit with friends. Praying for no rain and a good bike ride as I get ready for my first charity ride this Saturday! more about that this weekend.

Oh! One more thing...

The winner of my book giveaway is Linda from The Joyful Journey!

I choose winners by random.org and when she was the winner I was excited because I actually got to see Linda at the homeschool convention last spring. Fun!

Whew! that was a full post with lots of little fun details... Enjoy your Thursday!

Alphabitty Moments - N

N is for NICE Shades...

And, just to keep you updated...

I am visiting the Cleveland Clinic today. I have finally decided to face the symptoms and ask someone at the Mellen Center for MS to evaluate me.

I fear knowing what is wrong.

I fear not knowing what is wrong.

Please know that I am using the word "fear" very lightly because I KNOW that my God is mighty and that He is in control no matter what we find out about my health.

I am trusting Him but you all know the anxiousness that comes with things like this... anxiety that we minute by minute place at the feet of Jesus.

Pray for wisdom for Jeremy and I and for the doctors to know what is wrong and that I can get the testing done that I need to have while I am in Cleveland.

We are also still down to one vehicle from the car accident in July and still waiting for a miracle from the insurance.

Big needs but thankfully, my God is BIGGER!

Amen?

Alphabitty Moments and a book we LOVE

We LOVE books in this house.

LOVE BOOKS

Mommy loves books, Daddy loves books and our girls LOVE books.

So, our letter L moment is for LOVE...

And, The HomeSchool Village has asked us to link up today with our kids' favorite book!

This book has a story. I found it at a garage sale when Elayna was a baby for $4.50. Crazy expensive for a book at a garage sale, I know. Jeremy even asked me, "Why are you buying that?"

But, I knew it was a book that kids would love.

It's big. It's got a ton of little pictures like an I SPY book and it just looked cute.

My girls LOVE this book. They have literally spent hours devouring the colors, the toys, the animals and the fun pictures in this story.

The Night The Toys Came To Life by Tony Wolf (it is on Amazon cheaper than I got it for at a garage sale... I should buy a back up copy)

"The animals' next adventure took them to a farm in the country. What fun it was to play, picnic and work in the fields! Everyone loved to breathe the clean air and smell the freshly cut grass. They all found something to do, except for one mischievous little bear who tried to hide. Can you find him?"

"Everyone had so much fun they found it hard to leave when it was time to go home."

At the end of the story, the toys all group together for a big picture. "New friends and old all posed together before the dawn turned them back into toys..."

A perfect bedtime book.

Annalise did not want to get out of her comfy blanket for the book pictures but she did want me to post one of her all snuggled up. My sweet 5 year old...

What book do your kids love?

I also linked up with Things I LOVE Thursday over at Diaper Diaries. Seemed to work with my letter L moment!

Alphabitty Moments - J

Can you guess the letter J?

This Alphabitty Moment has to be about Jeremy.

J is for Jeremy because, well, nothing would be the same without him.

Jeremy is all fisherman...

All fun and crazy

All Adventure

A Children's Pastor, Speaker, Teacher and all things kid's ministry

Video Game player... yes, even Farmville (this is him in Turkey finding a man playing farmville and becoming "neighbors" with him on facebook. no joke)

He is a skydiver, a geocacher, a bearded brother, a hunter, a man of many hobbies, so many other things and most of all, my husband and my girls daddy.
And, something else about Jeremy... as some of you know... he loves all things hot and spicy.

Last Saturday, if you were following me on twitter or facebook, you know that we went to the Weekend of Fire in Cincinnatti. The event was held at Jungle Jim's and we went with some friends of ours so the guys could try all things SPICY.

Not only did Jeremy try the spicy sauces, salsas and recipes but he entered two different food eating contests.

Can you read the tags?

Yes, that does say DEATH MATCH. This was the sign hanging over the tent where he registered for the Defcon Death Match Wing Eating Contest. Is he CRAZY or what?

But, before the death match, he entered an ice cream contest. He came in second place and won a t-shirt. Although, if he had just raised his hand faster, he could have won.

See for yourself...

At least he cleaned his plate, right?

And, here he is at the death match. What a show that was! He came in 5th place out of 20 guys.

I was a ball of nerves watching him do that. Although I knew he could do it because he eats crazy hot stuff all the time, I still couldn't believe he was actually doing this contest. He did great though.

Well, not so great the whole night though sleeping propped in the chair or on the couch!

That is Jeremy.

Many J moments and many more to come, I'm sure.

Alphabitty Moments - The Ice Cream Clubu

Today, I ran a bunch of errands. I love the library stop because they always have new coloring pictures for the kids.

The picture today was of ICE CREAM!

Can we say perfect for the letter I?

The girls colored while Jeremy and I packed up the van for our tent camping trip this week.

And, yes... Abby has carried that elephant in her pocket ALL. DAY. LONG. even in Kroger.

They also had a surfer picture too.

After they were done coloring, I told Elayna to get the tape and let the girls hang their pictures up on the wall.

Annalise says, "I want to hang mine up by my club! This is my sign. I wrote Annalise Club on it."

I am in the kitchen and can't see her picture so I said, "Do you know how to spell club?"

"Sure, Mom... (sounds out the letters) C - L - U - Buh... Clu-buh!"

Sure enough... she had sounded out club and written CLUBU ANNALISE on her ice cream paper.

This Alphabitty Moment brought to you by Annalise and her Ice Cream Clubu!

and, Mamabear, of course.

Alphabitty Moments - G

I had a different word and a different moment picked out for the letter G but something happened last night that changed my mind.

I was in an accident and totalled Jeremy's car. I am fine. Kayla, our babysitter, is fine and the lady driving the other vehicle is fine.

Today, the letter G is for

God's Grace...

"But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you..." 2 Corinthians 12:9

God's Guidance

"For this God is our God for ever and ever; he will be our guide even to the end." Psalm 48:14

God's Guard

"...for the LORD will go before you, the God of Israel will be your rear guard." Isaiah 52:12

"For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways." Psalm 91:11

Whether you are walking down the road of life

Or sleeping at night...

Or in the midst of danger...

God is there.

Please be praying with us about the details of this accident. The other driver and I have different versions of what the traffic light said and there are no witnesses to help. Right now, we need God to intervene in many ways. We need peace to be able to keep preparing for kid's camp and not loose focus. We need God's provision of a vehicle for Jeremy.

And I know God will do it. He sees, He knows and He is here with us.

Alphabitty Moments - F... uhmmm again...

Last week, I did our Alphabitty Moments on "F is for Fountains" but Mamabear wasn't hosting that day because of a wedding... soooo, I am making use of the extra day to post about another letter F moment.

Fireworks!

How can I not with the holiday coming up this weekend?

I saw this post yesterday and just had to do this 4th of July craft with the girls. They LOVED it.

We got out our whole punches, our finger paint and some paper.

I handed the camera to Annalise (hence the very blurry pictures) and set out to painting my girls hands with blue and red finger paint.

They laughed and giggled because the paint brush tickled their hands.

The white star punches and birthday cupcake punches were a big hit. Not to mention the tin foil tiny moons and starts to make them sparkle.

Yes... F is for Fireworks! and for this letter, F also is for FUN!
