I'm sure you have noticed that we are in a biking kick these days.
Well, Jeremy is and he is taking the rest of us with him.
Our last ride with the girls was 9.82 miles! Can we say, "For Real??"
Yes, For. Real.
Anyway, last Saturday, we took a ride to a local park.
Abby was riding along comfortably in her buggy.
We stopped for a few minutes at a garden...
I had Annalise snap a quick picture of me and Abby for my Mommy and Me photo.
All sweet family moments.
But, as the day wore on... my girls started to show off their mad, monkey climbing skills.
Go Elayna, Go!
Do you know how Abby got up this high? She climbed up that side pole by herself and then climbed out on the bar. Seriously. I have it on video, which I'd show you but Jeremy taped it and he belched really loud at the end and didn't think you'd want to hear that part...
They love to climb and hang on things...
Swinging from bar to bar...
Jumping down from high places... no fear.
And you wonder where they get it. Because it sure isn't from me.
Nope.
This is ALL Daddy.
You see, he can't just swing normally.
He has to turn it into a roller coaster ride.
"Hang on tight! Here we go!!!"
Annalise was very nervous and not so sure about this new Daddy trick but she went along for the ride anyway...
Just hanging out with Daddy. Completely up. side. down.
Oh that man... give a girl a heart attack for sure.
But, lots of smiles and miles later, we made it home again.
Home with a new red ball to add to our growing "we found these lost balls on our bike trip" collection.
And speaking of biking...
Check out our littlest Goodwin biker!
She is FINALLY riding without tears!
You think she is up for a 10 mile ride yet?
I have a feeling not.
Because after our big ride (in which she colored in her coloring books and then took a nap for 20 minutes) she climbed out of the buggy and said, "Whew! Daddy, I need a drink of water from all that bike riding!"
Oh, that girl!

ReplyDeleteI loved the pictures. So proud of Annalise for swinging with her daddy even though she was nervous and knew what he was going to do. Tell Abby she did an awesome job riding her bike. Elayna made walking on that bar look so easy. Give them all hugs from me.
ReplyDeleteAt least he wore his helmet for the "rollercoaster" ;)
ReplyDeleteHow fun! I'm looking forward to when we are all on bikes:) Yay Abbe!
ReplyDeleteWhoo HOOOOO Abby! How fun! I love how Jeremy wore his helmet while swinging. Hahahahaha It made me laugh that he wore his on his dare devil tricks but girls...no helmet. (I know he just didn't take it off from riding bikes...but still is funny)
ReplyDeleteThat is so awesome!!! We are working on teaching our twins to ride their bikes (with training wheels). It's so fun watching them learn new things! 10 miles! That's crazy! I know my husband is dying to do those things, but not until all of the kids can do it on their own, so I'm safe for a few more years :)
ReplyDeleteWhat fun they must have all had going on the swing "ride"- especially Jeremy ;)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to Abby- bike riding is a big accomplishment!!
such cute lil' monkeys you have there. ;) love the buggy. that's a sweet way to 'ride' a bike. *giggle*
ReplyDeletevery very cute. I love the swings. I remember being a daredevil on the swings (holding on by my ankles, flipping off backwards...) but if I EVER saw my girls do it I would flip out, so I understand your anxiety! I bet they will never forget it though...
ReplyDeleteWOW Abby! Come teach James how to do that please! I think EVERYONE needs to wear helmets on playground trips when it comes to your family-just not daddy!!!
ReplyDeleteLooks like fun :o)
Your girls remind me of me when I was younger with all that climbing!
ReplyDeleteSo how many balls DO you have?
Oh, that is some tough riding...and some monkey girls, too. But, you are right, totally learned it from daddy!
